


Taking cues from the film industry, the publishing world needs to adapt itself to the visual, multi media driven expectations of the next generation of readers. These trailers could create great interest in classic literature for younger readers. They could be shared on facebook, or blogs, and teachers could email them out to a class as a means to get students excited about a new class assignment.
Instead of being formatted in the traditional 16:9 or 4:3 tv formats, this video trailers reflect the size of the very books they are advertising by being presented in a vertical format that is the same proportion as the books themselves. The trailer’s would by short and use the cover art of the book being advertised. In this case The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling and illustrated by Linda Kim.
